Middle School

Christian Education for Grades 6-8

Where Faith & Learning Meet

At The Rock School, we understand the pivotal role middle school plays in shaping a student’s future. Our distinctively Christian middle school program is designed not only to prepare students academically but also to nurture their spiritual growth, grounding them in the Christian faith and virtues.

A Place of Belonging

Middle school is a time of growth, change, and challenge. Many students and parents feel anxious about navigating these crucial years successfully.

Our middle school program offers a supportive, engaging, and faith-filled environment. Here, your child isn’t just another student; they are part of a community where they can flourish.

Faithful & Faith-filled Faculty

Our dedicated faculty are not just educators; they are mentors in faith, committed to guiding students through their academic journey and their spiritual walk.

We cultivate an environment where students can explore and deepen their faith while delivering to them an IB curriculum that stimulates curiosity, fosters creativity, and encourages critical thinking.

Empathy

Students learn to build meaningful relationships and to see one another as God’s image-bearers.

Exploration

Students learn inquiry and to seek understanding, driven by curiosity and wonder and a boldness to ask questions.

Executive Function

Students learn the skills needed to plan, prepare, practice, and process what is to be done in their learning journey

Building a Foundation for Life

Selecting a middle school that fails to resonate with your family’s faith and values can detract from your child’s moral and spiritual development. This critical juncture should be a time for embedding deep, meaningful values that will guide them throughout life.

Imagine your child deeply rooted in their faith, achieving academic milestones with excellence, and maturing into a confident, compassionate individual who lives out Christian values every day. At The Rock School, we make this vision a vibrant reality, fostering an environment where faith and learning flourish together.

Approaches to Learning (ATL’s)

The ATLs are designed to empower students to become self-regulated learners who can engage with complex challenges both inside and outside the classroom.

Thinking Skills

Students are encouraged to analyze and evaluate information, generate novel ideas, make decisions, and reflect on their learning experiences to improve understanding and personal growth.

Students learn to express themselves clearly and confidently in more than one language and in a variety of ways.

Students develop empathy, understand group dynamics, and learn to collaborate and resolve conflicts.

Students manage their own learning and well-being through time management, goal-setting, personal organization, resilience, and mindfulness.

Students learn to locate, evaluate, and synthesize information from a variety of sources.

Personal Project

In the final year of the MYP, students undertake the Personal Project, which allows them to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they have acquired throughout the programme. This long-term project is an opportunity for students to explore an area of personal interest in depth, fostering independent learning and self-management skills which results in a process journal, a final product and a written report that stems from their own initiative and creativity.
